Explanation: Job Terms Negotiation- Leslie Lee & Purezza Pharmaceuticals

My BATNA is accepting Medicait’s offer of being a trainee assistant product manager in the firm at my commencement. It is the alternative to Purezza Pharmaceuticals (PP) job offer although I have a third offer from a firm called Going North Products (GNP). In my tactics I will only use the offers of GNP as means to get concessions from Frances Reclutamento to meet my interests.

My goal to find employment in a leading pharmaceutical company is shaped by my interest to further my research education and to continue my corporate training; therefore, issues like being funded by PP to continue my PhD in research at UNSW have risen since the job offer seemed to limit my options and my aspirations.

Moreover, I’m choosing to anchor at my opening offer of $67,000 because I want to give myself space for concessions as well as I am hoping I would reach a settlement at or above my target point. My interest mainly lies in the Research and development section of PP, therefore if I was offered a salary slightly above my resistance point yet with a lot of non-monetary benefits I am prepared to accept it. My resistance point is $55,500 because as I had seen on the job recruitment web site that salary is maximum in the range of graduate recruits’ salaries and I feel I cannot accept less than that as I have received First Class Honours in pharmacology in my science degree along with my international business degree.

My job “start date” commences on the 2nd of December 2013 (O.O.) since I deduced that Frances cannot wait longer than that, hence my resistance point shows that date pushed back to January as I will use my wanting to go on vacation to Italy after graduation and due to the drop in the amount of my salary-that is of course if my salary does fall beyond my target point.
