Introduction

The emerging of war in Afghanistan resulted into deteriorating of the economy affecting the major economic pillars. Security, economy and the countries identities are the vital economic pillars which have been adversely affected by the development of terror activities in this country. Some of the Afghanistan faction within different communities has affiliations with Islamic militants in other parts of the world. This has resulted into numerous terror activities in the world being associated with Afghanistan such as America’s September 11 attack. Apart from terror activities Afghanistan is also attributed with vast drugs production and trading activities (Rotbery, 2002).

A Significant proportion of Afghan economic revenue is obtained through drug export and exchange. This is facilitated by the farming of poppies which is transformed into illegal narcotics to avail quick cash to the farmers. This country has been labeled as a major illicit drug producer with about 1670 metric tons per year. There are other heroin processing laboratories established in this country which contribute to major political divisions’ profitability. The Afghanistan country is also confronted with other extreme problems such as destitution, illiteracy, natural disasters, lack of centralized government and economic problems.

To eradicate this security and economic issues, United States of America has engaged in military and law enforcement capabilities to protect the state security. According to former United States president, the motivation of United States to restore peace and security to Afghanistan is derived from the courage, generosity skill and character of the American people. Observers and critiques of America’s mode of engagement in Afghanistan assert that America’s failure to restore security and peace would resort to adverse consequences which will reverberate to other Muslim countries (Doyle & Michael, 1986).
