Executive Summary

After considering Willowbrook’s limited budget for this project and their heavy workload during the school year, it was decided to implement this project in phases. The first phase, which will occur during the school’s summer break, will entail the setup of an Administrative Record information system on Willowbrook’s new computer network, and the launching phase one of Willowbrook’s new website.

The first phase of Willowbrook’s new computer network will include the installation of ten new PCs. Two of these PCs will be installed in the school’s Administrative offices, one PC installed in each of the grades K-6 classrooms, and the remaining PC installed in the Aftercare classroom. These PCs will reside on a Local Area Network, utilizing a mainframe network server which will provide data processing and data storage services for the network. A contract to purchase these PCs has already been signed, and delivery is scheduled for late May 2012.

The new Administrative Record information system design is complete and scheduled for installation in February 2012. SoDel IT Solutions has allotted 75 hours for installation and testing of the new system. Included in this time estimate is 4 hours to make multiple full system backups. Once the system has tested out successfully, the users will be able to begin entering data into the system. The new system uses an Access database. Willowbrook’s current system also uses Access. These factors should allow for a seamless migration of data from Willowbrook’s current system to the new system.
