Diversity is an assortment of different elements such as sex, race or place of origin combined together in one place and/or one area. Diversity is valued because it brings together different ethnic groups ideas and beliefs. It collaborates their ideas for a desired outcome. 2. What is ethnocentrism? In what ways can ethnocentrism be detrimental to a society?

Ethnocentrism is the opinion and or attitude that one’s group, race, or place of origin is superior. Ethnocentrism is a detrimental to a society because. When one group or race thinks that they are superior or in leman terms, thinking that they are better than a person or group. These people become close minded and do not see the value in others opinions. These attitudes can bring down a town, city or country.With their views being one sided can also create violence.

3. Define emigration and immigration.

Emigration is when someone leaving one country or region to settle in another.

Under this definition people leave their country s because of natural disaster, war, and persecution. Immigration is the act of leaving another country for the purpose of better opportunities and a better quality of life for themselves and their families.

4. What are some of the ways groups of people are identified?

Some groups as we all know are categorize by their color of skin. Others are categorize by the region they may live in within their country. They're also categorize by where they come from and a different language they may speak or an accent a person has. Economically status is another group.
