Coca Cola

How people have not been in a cinema hall, and suddenly emerges striking display advertising full of life, and positive elements. Following this, a slogan quickly appears saying the phrase "Open happiness". This is the marketing campaign of the most famous canned sodas company: Coca Cola.

The company emerges from the creation of pharmacist John Pembertom 1886 invention of a liquid caramel syrup that later was called Coca Cola. Since its invention, and over the years the secret formula for the creation of the syrup, is one of the most and best kept secrets. Many procedures have been changed, and innovation has taken an important part on the development of the product and on company’s business goals achievements. Right now, Coca Cola is one of the most successful with approximately 500 brands under its umbrella of products offered to customers. Every day, 1.7 billion Coca Cola beverages are sold.

The Coca-Cola Company mainly uses a hybrid of make to stock and batch production. Since the company has such a high demand worldwide for soft drinks for example, they know they will get a set amount of sales over a prolonged period of time. Since they are able to forecast sales and predict demand, they are able to make to stock and compile a large set inventory to meet the needs for their sales.

On the other hand, since they have various processes in soft drinks they also do things in batches. For example, they can use batches of purified water being manufactured for various products that are then headed over to another production line for individualized soft drink production for different flavoring agents. The combination of both of these methods provides the company with flexibility to stockpile product while reducing the cost of setting up other machines.
