Steve Harmon uses his writings and screenplays to reflect upon his life. He uses his writings to look at his past, his present and his future. Steve Harmon learns about who he is and who he wants to be through the screenplays. The prosecutor Petrocelli described Steve Harmon as a “monster”. He does not see himself that way. He says he wants to know who he is.

Steve Harmon uses his writings and screenplays to reflect on his past. For example, he says he can look back on his life during the last year and nothing extraordinary happened in his life. He is reflecting on the fact that he doesn’t know how he ended up in prison. The path he chose over the year led him to where he is but he really doesn’t understand how.

He says he sees a face looking back at him but he doesn’t recognize it. He says it doesn’t look like himself. He wonders what he will look like when the trial is over. He is reflecting on what changes he is going to go through and who he is currently.

Steve wonders what he would say to him. He says he would tell his brother to think about all the tomorrows of your life. Steve is reflecting on where he could take his own life if he were free.
