First of all, it is difficult to write this essay even though it sounds easy to write such an essay, for the answer to my question is obvious to most Americans. When I tried to find evidence to prove my points, problems occurred. I could not find evidences that truly support my point but mostly evidences that challenge my points. It took me more than two hours to search for academic journals that support my opinion, but I found a very limited amount of articles that may be helpful. Almost no evidence has shown that limiting internet usage has negative effects to students, and almost no evidence proves that gaming can be good. Most academic journals try to prove that the internet addiction is terrible and limiting internet usage should be encouraged.

Secondly, I found a lot of evidences in life proving that internet is so useful that college students limiting internet can have very negative effects. However, it has never been written as a formal academic article. It is ironic that I can never finish this essay in time if I were a college student back in China as the time I spent on searching for articles exceeded the time I could possibly spend on internet during a regular school day.

Should school limit the amount of time students spend on internet and the content they can view? In America, a lot of people consider that this question has an obvious answer – no. Certainly, my answer would be no as well. However, the truth is that this question is actually not that easy to answer. Imagine that you have been studying at least 11 hours a day including the time at school since you were 10 years old and you are not allowed to play on the computer unless necessary. It is obvious that you will spend many hours on playing computer and using internet if you suddenly have the freedom to use computer however long you want.
