Creating a Plan for Positive Influence

Introduction

In every workplace, there will be peoples with different personalities and cultural background. These differences shape employes behavior in workplace. When managers understand this, they are enabled to create an environment lends itself to motivation, satisfaction and improved performance (Robbin & Judge,2007).

Organization needs manager that can know theirs employees and positive influence them to obtain desired results. This report will present a positive influence plan that incorporate ways to increate motivation, satisfaction and performance. Also, It will address the differences in attitudes, emotions, personalities and values and how each difference influences behavior.

1 Increasing Motivation, Satisfaction and Performance

"We define motivation and the process that account for an individual's intensity, direction and persistence of effort toward attaining a goal" (Robbin & Judge,2007, p. 186). Employees have different needs and desires, it is managers job to fulfill those needs to achieve their motivation. Manager shouldn't treat their employees alike. Spending time to comprehend what is important to each employees will allow managers to individualize goals, level of involvement and rewards to align with their goals.

Job Satisfaction is not about job conditions, it refers how to how satisfied a person within their jobs. According to Robbin and Judge, companies and managers can create satisfied employees if they can combine a mentally challenging work, equitable rewards, supportive working conditions and supportive colleges. Mentally challenging work means that people prefer jobs that they can use their skills and ability. Equitable rewards means that employees want pay systems in line their expectation and skills. Supportive working conditions means that employees prefers to work safety and comfortable environment.
