I'm going to open this paper with explaining the President speech before moving on the Director of Justice speech. The President speech to the nation talked about a few things such as the 9/11 attack and the loss of life, the death of Osama, and what this war is really about. The President talks briefly about how much life we lost on 9/11 which was nearly 3k people. When it comes to the death of Osama the information leading up to was more in depth, the president talks about over the last 10 years the military and counter terrorist team has been working around the clock to find this man. The speech than goes on to say during a fire fight Osama was killed which is a great victory for the world. The last part of the President speech talks about what this war is really about, the President said two things that really stood out to me during his speech "As we do, we must also reaffirm that the United States is not –- and never will be -– at war with Islam.  I’ve made clear, just as President Bush did shortly after 9/11, that our war is not against Islam.  Bin Laden was not a Muslim leader; he was a mass murderer of Muslims." President Obama tone was one of sadness for the loss of human life but also had a tone of celebrating for the nation on a job well done for getting rid of Osama. Director Panetta tone was completely different; his speech did say a job well done but that about it as far as both speeches being the same. Panetta speech made me think I was back at a commander call (meeting) yes the leader was...
