Time Management Project

Time is one of a manager’s most valuable resources.  People who effectively manage their time are more successful on the job and have a greater chance of career advancement.

The term time management refers to techniques designed to enable people to get more done in less time with better results.  The first step to successful time management is to determine current time use.  People often do not realize how they waste their time until they analyze time use.

The time log is a daily diary that tracks activities and enables a person to determine how time is used.  For the next two weeks you will track your daily use of time. Try to keep the time log with you throughout the day.  Try not to go for longer than one hour without filling in the log.  Beside each time write the activity completed.  For example, on the 8:15 line, record the activity completed from 8:00 to 8:15.
