GUIDELINES/SAMPLE EXAM QUESTIONS

Midterm Exam

Schedule: Your exam will be available starting 12:01 a.m. CT on Oct. 6th (Sunday). Your exam is due by NOON Central Time on the 8th of October, Tuesday (as indicated in your syllabus). This deadline is ABSOLUTE!

If you miss your exam, you will be given an automatic 0/100. Your only recourse would be to drop the class to avoid an “F” grade.

Your exam grade will be available on or before Thursday, October 10th , by noon CT. Check your “Gradebook” and/or e-mail.

WARNING: Since there is no way to for me to prevent some of you from taking the exam in groups – I will trust that you will abide with TAMU-C Academic Honesty Policy. However, given the nature of your exam and the time constraint – I have not found grades skewed because of this issue.

Exam Tips:

• Your exam will cover both chapter lecture notes provided by Dr. M. as well as textbook content. This is an open book/open notes exam. Per your syllabus, the midterm will cover Chapters 1, 21, 3, 4, 5, and 6.

• There will be 3 pages (or sections) to your exam. Page 1: 20 Multiple choice questions (2 pts each); Page 2: 10 True/False questions (2 pts each); and, Page 3: 4 essay questions (10 pts each).

• The exam is set up so that you can move/navigate between pages (sections).

• Questions will deal with APPLICATION/COMPREHENSION of the various concepts.

• Multiple choice section – There is only one correct answer. No “trick” questions.

• Essay section - Be sure to discuss or explain the essay questions THOROUGHLY. Bullet statements are not acceptable. Remember that this is a graduate level course and the depth of your analysis should reflect this.

• Cases/Discussions will NOT be part of your test.

• This is a 2-hour exam.
