When colonists first settled in the New World, they discovered that there were many people (Native Americans/Indians) already living here and the Native Americans had no plans on giving into the colonists anytime soon. Attempts at establishing friendly relations failed between colonists and Indians in New England due to the harsh treatment of Indians, the differences in the distribution of land and the distribution of power.

Shortly after arriving in the New World, colonists discovered that they were going to starve to death and die if they didn’t find a way to make or get food. When the colonists realized that they weren’t going to make it, they tried to leave, but Lord De La Warr showed up and made them stay. The tensions between the colonists and Native Americans over the distribution of land continued and caused much hostility between them.
