The Childhood Immunization

The childhood immunization has to be mandatory, because it is the best form to prevent the spread of the diseases in the world.

“Over the past two decades, tremendous progress has been made toward the eradication of polio. In 1988, when the World Health Assembly established the goal of eradicating the disease and the Global Polio Eradication Initiative (GPEI) was launched, wild poliovirus was endemic in 125 countries and about 350,000 people, primarily young children, were paralyzed by polio annually. Since then, immunization efforts have reduced the number of polio cases globally by more than 99 percent, saving more than 10 million children from paralysis. Polio remains endemic in just three countries—Nigeria, Pakistan, and Afghanistan—and fewer than 250 cases were reported in 2012, compared to 650 cases in 2011”.

The central theme of this paper is the topic of childhood immunization. Childhood immunization should be mandatory in Canada for a variety of reasons. The health and well-being of all Canadian citizens has greatly improved since the introduction of compulsory child immunizations. The spread of infectious diseases such as measles, whooping cough and polio have been reduced over the last few decades due to childhood immunization. Therefore, one must agree that such immunizations should be made mandatory.

Childhood immunizations should be mandatory in Canada for a wide range of reasons. “According to the Ottawa Citizen, Ottawa Public Health began to send 5,500 letters late last month to parents who hadn’t provided documentation to indicate that their children had received immunizations for diseases such as rubella, measles and mumps”.

In my opinion the childhood immunization have to be mandatory because is the best option for to do decrees the average of people infected and the government have to do strict rules for do this happen.
