Power is the ability to control people in their sayings or actions. It is the ability to get whatever you pine for. If an individual wishes to hold great power, he might need to be vigilant since the road to achieve the goal is probably strewn with pitfalls.

Erich Fromme used to stated that “ The lust for power is not rooted in strength but in weakness”. Realistically speaking, human nature of people is to want what they cannot have - employees want to be like their boss, the poor hopes for a life of luxury, the rock wishes it could be indestructible just like the precious diamond and so on. To be more specific, Students nowadays are always under a great deal of pressure from the so called “credit mania” which means to bop to the top of the school performance tables, they even cheat on exam in order to higher their grades. As a result, early habits and rationalizations can pave the way for potentially destroying decisions later in life. Many cheaters do get caught, both in school and in the real world, upending lives and ruining reputations. Another example is from economy which can’t be sustained without the power of money. Everybody knows the value of money so scrambling for it is inevitable. A poverty-stricken man wanted money. He wished for it because he feels he needs so much to get by. He felt like those with more money were better therefore, the greed and dreams of authority made him become a thief, a murder that kill his own mother to get money from her insurance. Consequently, when a person grasps all, he loses all. That man was convicted and received the death penalty. Hence, once people cannot resist temptation, the lust of power can either bring its possessor up or weaken the morality and end up one’s life.
