Abstract E-commerce refers to the purchase and sale of goods and/or services via electronic channels, such as the Internet. Online retail is convenient due to its 24-hour availability, global reach and ease of customer service.In 1971 or 1972: The ARPANET is used to arrange a cannabis sale between students at the Stanford Artificial Intelligence Laboratory and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, later described as "the seminal act of e-commerce" in John Markoff's book What the Dormouse Said. We are doing a project on how to set up the e-commerce business. To set up the business, we need to find the costs that may incur in setting up the business. Also we have to decide the best business model that can be followed in India. The major part of the project is to set up the ecommerce website.
