Abortion Not an Option

Introduction

For over a century there has been a substantial controversy in the United States regarding abortion. Many people believe that abortion is okay under certain circumstances. People need to wake-up! Abortions are immoral and cruel. There is never a circumstance to which is okay to take a human life. Just because, a fertilized egg may not be seen, does not mean that it should be thought of as a non-living life. It is at the time of fertilization when a life is being created. Aborting an embryo or fetus is no different from murder and should not ever be an option (Yarber, Sayad, & Strong, 2010, p. 355).

Why Abortion is Wrong

There are many reasons why abortion is wrong. Abortions are the cause of countless deaths among innocent children ("Abortion," n.d.). People are robbing themselves of never meeting the unique personalities or new individuals these unborn children had carried before they are killed. Abortions do not give these new individual lives a chance to feel or experience the same opportunities that others have all been so blessed to endure. Imagine if some parents had decided to abort some of those people that are now living and did not allow them the chance to experience life. Which brings us to another reason why abortion is wrong, it is wrong to take the life of another. Humans do not have the right to choose who lives and who does not (Melton, 1996). People should not try to make these decisions, when it seems that they are ignorant in knowing when a human life begins. This is talking about the lives of real, living, and breathing human beings here people! Also, another reason abortion is wrong, is due to the nature in which they are performed and viciously done. These children should not be killed and discarded like throwing away a piece of garbage.
