Prescription drugs play an increasing role in modern medicine. Medications are improving health outcome and quality of life Replacing surgery and other treatments. Doctors prescribe prescription drugs for more health problems than ever before. Pharmacies on line make it accessible to get medications without a prescription. Here is the issue of prescription drugs people who are having an addiction to prescription drugs are getting these medications on-line because you don’t need a prescription. They go to the emergency room or they will go to their physician because some physicians are too busy to check to see when they last gave them a prescription for that medication. Some prescription drugs they are asking for have Psychoactive (mind-Altering) properties and because of that the issue of prescription drugs becomes addictive to some people. Especially people who uses pain killers. The FDA knows about issues of the shortage of drugs at pharmacies. A lot of medications that are ordered by the Physicians the pharmacies don’t have them at all. They are on back order and if it is for a person who are on a heart medication or on insulin the pharmacies have to call around to other pharmacies to see if they have it in stock. In 2011 according to the (FDA) they have tracked over 250 drug shortages.
