Introduction

More and more people are getting their information and other requirements online so it is completely logical for businesses to use internet as marketing instrument. The internet gives the opportunity to promote any company or product efficiently and with lower costs. Businesses should follow this trend in order to survive in the world of digital competitiveness. Similarly, Eric Qualman in his book Socialnomics (2011) states that “if you wait until there is a new case study in your industry, you will be too late”. In other words, businesses should look in the future in order to be a successful today. The future is on the Internet.

Business to be discussed in this project is Cosmodata that specifies on Computers and Peripherals. It is a Greek company that has three small stores in Athens but it is also present on the internet with the web site called cosmodata.gr. Customers are able to purchase company’s products online. The purpose of this project is to describe the characteristics of Cosmodata’s target group, discuss the importance of SEM and customer engagement metrics and practical application of them to the Cosmodata’s marketing strategy. Finally, the project will critically evaluate alternative methods that the Cosmodata can employ to manage electronic word of mouth and suggest how they should handle this issue in the future.
