2012-2013 Thesis and Dissertation Manuscript Formatting and Documentation Styles Each graduate program that requires a dissertation or thesis has adopted an appropriate formatting and documentation style used in scholarly publications in the field. The student and advisor are responsible for ensuring that this style is used consistently throughout the manuscript. The list of preferred styles is organized alphabetically by school. Under each department or program, students will find the preferred style and the title of a journal or journals for reference. Students should contact the dean’s office in the school if a style and journal are not listed under the program or department. Please contact your staff graduate advisor, as individual departments may have additional information regarding formatting styles.
