In America today, we enjoy many freedoms that we are lucky as human beings to enjoy; we have rights and we demand equality, which is why today so many people are questioning their salaries, and the salaries of some of the highest paid CEO's in the country. There are many factors to consider when questioning any persons worth, like education, how many years of school did this individual attend, and more importantly pay for, second, how much responsibilities does this individual have compared to his or her colleagues, and the most important of questions is productivity, does the individuals efforts correspond to profits for the company. First, let us consider education, colleges and universities are not cheap, so to attract the best and brightest, companies will favor a college graduate especially for a demanding role such as CEO. Next, consider responsibility a CEO is always accountable and will always be available to rectify any situation. Finally, profits some companies will hire a CEO because his or her name brings notoriety or a sense of stability or success, so if paying a person an extremely large salary

brings your company extreme amounts of income then that person would be well worth the money. These ideas seem to ring true with what Americans believe, the belief that here in America anyone can study hard, work hard and become anything, they want, so becoming a CEO could be anyone's success story here in America.

So is the debate of wage inequality merely that of lazy Americans, who do not work hard or go to college; and who complain that they don’t get paid enough to do their low tech low responsibility and low visibility jobs. Could it also be possible that hard working educated people are suffering at the hands of big business and creating a continued cycle of inequality here in America, and the gap seems to be widening...
