Re: Web Conferencing Programs Research

At your request, I have researched four different web conferencing programs and have provided one that I feel will provide a more than adequate result when holding our weekly status meetings. The selection was made based on certain criteria that I compared each program to such as, affordability, reliability, and user-friendliness. After looking at different programs on the internet, I narrowed my selection down to the four programs below. These four were chosen because of they did the best in met the criteria, and they were also feature packed with high reviews.

Web-Ex was one of the first web conferencing software programs available and continues to be a leader in web conferencing. It is a fully featured program that offers several sharing options such as desktop mode, webcam and audio from either the computer or an actual phone. It is a browser-based program, so there is no software installation required and allows the user to invite attendees via e-mail, phone, or even short messaging service (SMS), also known as text messaging. This program allows the user to record meetings and upload them to a meeting space for other attendees to review. The plan is free for up to three users at one time, but does not allow application sharing. It does however, allow the user to share documents, their desktop, and includes up to 250 megabytes (MB’s) of storage. The paid version of this program is tier-based, ranging from $24 to $49 a month depending on the number of attendees.
