Leaving Paradise Book Project

1. Something that happened to a character that I would have don’t differently is when the character in my book, Maggie, was hit by a car and she assumed she was hit by a boy named Caleb. Come to find out at the end of the story that she wasn’t hit by Caleb, the boy she has had a crush on since she was younger. If I were her I would have took things more slowly to figure out who hit me rather than just going by rumors. But in the end they lived happily ever after so I guess what she did wasn’t wrong.

2. Maggie and I are similar in many ways. One way is Maggie was really good at tennis before the accident. After she was hit she would never be able to play tennis again because she had gone through so many surgeries in her leg that she had a horrible limp. At the end of the book she had ended up playing tennis again. When I was 13 I jumped off of a tree, lord knows why, but I had hurt my leg extremely bad that the bone was popping out. I was told that I wouldn’t be able to play softball for a really long time, if ever. But after it healed I was in therapy daily and now I am back on the field like it never happened.

3. If I could re-title the book I would call it “Hit by Cupid”. The book already has a really good title but if I had to that’s what I would call it. I would call it that because she was hit literally by who she thought was she loved. I’m not going to tell the whole story but they did end up falling in love.

4. In this story I learned to forgive but never forget. Also never to hold grudges. When you hold a grudge you are only hurting yourself. That is what Maggie was doing towards Caleb come to find out that she was holding on the wrong person. I’ll use it in my life every day. There is always that one person that has did you wrong and you don’t want anything to do with them. I have that one person but I decided to just let what happened go and move on. Ever since then I’ve had less stress.

5. If Maggie was to visit me...
