“Canada shall be the star towards which all men who love progress and freedom shall come”, the result of prediction had shown through history. Canada has become an independent nation, fully developed on economy and change in women. In a high extent the prediction by Prime Minister Laurier came true.

The political road to independence was long and tough; however, Canadians finally have their freedom. At first, in WWI Canada was automatically counted into war. Even though the reason was because Canada was the allies of European, Canada did not have choice to make decision; “Canada will supply troops if motherland is involved” (P.65). Secondly, Canada did not want to be under control by Britain anymore; Canadian wanted freedom and the right to make their own decisions with both internal issues and external issues. In addition, the Prime minister played an important role in growing autonomy from Britain. For example, in The Chanak Crisis “King frostily informed Britain that Canada’s Parliament would decide whether or not Canada would join the war” (P.151), as well as The Halibut Treaty, the prime minister, Mackenzie King stopped the representative of British to sign the treaty for Canada and “announced that British involvement was not necessary” (P.151). These events had led Canada to growing autonomy from Britain and got independence. Lastly, the Prime Minister Trudeau announced Charter of Rights and Freedoms that were a “clear statement of basic rights to which Canadians were entitled” (P.308) which helped to build law of Canada and equilibrium for everyone. As a result, Canada became an independent nation in 1926 and later a country full of freedom in 1982.

From the beginning of fishing to international business, all the progress led Canada to a developed economy. First in 1900s, Canada’s main industries were fishing, wheat farms, mining, and industrialization; which helped Canadian industries’ growth. Soon in 1920s, the new economy brought Canada wealth.
