Not the Perfect Solution: LLCP and Tuition Increment in UPLB

Doodling in my notebook or scratch or thinking about the issues in the campus I was not aware before I enter UPLB. That's what I usually do during my lecture class. I sit at the back of my 3 out 4 lecture class. I was already shy to change my seat because I can still see and hear better at the back. I was trying to listen and take down notes but I usually ended up doing those things I said earlier.

Memorandum 001, Series of 2010, also known as "Full Implementation of Large Classes" or Large Lecture Class Policy was implemented to accommodate more students. To provide education for the growing population of the campus. Also to handle the courses that are in demand but are limited due to different problems like lack of facilities and problems with the faculty members (Gruta, 2010).[pic]There are GE courses that are required or already in large class but there are also courses that should be in small class because students need to be engaged with the discussion. There cannot be no difference in academic performance between students in large class and students in small class. Large classes are full of distractions. Even though we say that a student want to listen to the lecture, distractions can stop him. Coldness in the lecture hall, numbers of sleeping or doodles of his seatmate. So when the lecture ended, the usual conversations are "It is colder than before in the Lecture or Multi-Purpose Hall today," "Many slept in the class today." Large classes hinder interactions inside the class. Some students will be shy to ask in their lecturer about the things they are confused with and even some ask, others will not bother to listen to what will you or the lecturer say because they can't understand your point or what will the lecturer answer. If they'll ask some other time like consultation hours or the recitation class there is a bit difference. Some students...
