Some people believe that a country benefits greatly with a high percentage of young people who go to university, while others think that is only lead to graduate unemployment. Discuss both views and give your opinion.

Although it is sometime argued that young people’s participation in university education may lead to a climbing unemployment rate, I do believe that it will have a positive impact on a country.

Some people regard the high participation rate in university study as a positive change because they believe that this can help to close the massive divide between rich and poor. Young people may find that employers prefer those with university qualifications. If they are able to acquire knowledge, their life opportunities will increase. They can find jobs easily and improve standards in living, which can help ease the tension between rich and poor.

The alternative view is that those young people who go to universities may learn theories rather than hand-on experience. They do not understand how to put theories into practice and communicate effectively with others such as clients. The consequence is that people are unable to find jobs easily and may even commit anti-social acts to show their dissatisfaction.

In my opinion, it is important to provide people with opportunities to pursue a university degree, which can stimulate economic growth. They are able to develop their talents and improve skills. For example, information technology skills enable working people to use advanced software at work and to finish tasks effectively. Such skills can improve productivity, which holds the key to a country’s economic development.

In conclusion, it is my personal view that higher education should be encouraged nationwide and this policy can benefit young people and also the whole community. We should not underrate the benefits when some graduates fail to seek employment.
