VM DOS instructions

1. Download the DOS 6.22 ISO from D2L

2. Open VMware Player

3. Choose create new virtual machine

4. Choose installer disc image

5. Browse and find your DOS ISO click next

6. Choose the “Other” option

7. If not already selected choose MS-DOS from drop down menu click next

8. Click Next for 3 screens

9. Click finish

10. Click paly Virtual Machine

11. Once you come the blinking cursor at A:\> type “fdisk” then press enter

12. Press 1 enter

13. Press 1 enter

14. Press y enter

15. At the A: prompt type: “Format C: /s” press enter

16. When prompted press “y” then enter

17. At A: prompt type “C:” press enter

18. At C: prompt type “mkdir DOS” press enter

19. At C: prompt type “cd DOS” press enter

20. At C:\DOS\> type “copy a:.” press enter

21. Restart your Virtual Machine(VM)

22. At your start up screen quickly press F2

23. At the next screen using the arrow keys to navigate go to BOOT

24. Use the down arrow until Hard Disk is selected(should be white text)

25. Press the “+” until Hard Disk is on top

26. Press F10 and press Enter

27. Shutdown your VM

28. Go to D2L and download DT_D1.img, DT_D2.img and DT_D3.img

29. In the VMware Player main screen select MS-DOS

30. At the bottom of the application window click Edit virtual machine settings

31. Click Add

32. Select Floppy Drive click next

33. Select Use as floppy image click next

34. Click browse and find your DT_D1.img file select it and click open

35. Click finish

36. Start your MS-DOS VM

37. When you get to the C: prompt type “mkdir DOS-TOOLS” press enter

38. At C: type “cd DOS-TOOLS” press enter

39. At C:\DOS-TOOLS\> type “mkdir DT-D1” press enter

40. At same prompt type “mkdir DT-D2” press enter

41. At the same prompt type “mkdir DT-D3” press enter

42. At the prompt type “cd DT-D1” press enter...
