Males vs Females on Advertisements

2: Inventory of advertisements:

Hotel: Three male, three female. (Middle Aged)

Medical: Two ads. First one has One Male, one female. Second has two male doctors, two nurses.

Attorney: Different ads. Five males, one female. (All looking like attorneys)

Business: One business looking female

Home Repair: A happy family of two male, three female

Male are considered to be found in more advertisements than females. They are mostly the lead roles in most of the advertisements that they are in. Males are mostly found in the advertisements that includes business, entertainment, sports, and models. Women are mostly found in advertisements for clothings and apparels, home products, and shopping. The is an advertisement featuring mother's day special for half off of termite extermination. It shows a happy family with a male figure looking over the family. Even though it is a home and garden which is usually for females, males do appear in almost any other ads.

Males in the newspaper advertisements are usually found in many roles. They are almost always in the attorney advertisements. The are also models for hotel and well being products. Males both young and old are used in advertisements in wide variety. The male in the hotel advertisements are portrayed as middle aged males who look as though they are successful. They look happy usually because it is trying to show that these hotels are places that successful middle aged males gather and socialize.

Another major roles of males that are found in newspaper advertisements are the role of doctors and attorneys. The roles in the medical category portrays males as doctors that seems to be head of the group. They are portrayed as though they are the ones talking to the rest of the mass which consists of males and females. The male doctor's face is shown fully while the rest of the nurse's faces...
