Business Plan

The Business Plan: A center for children and adolescents, ages 3-21, where they can come for extracurricular activities, tutoring, health and wellness checkups, counseling and mentoring. The plan is to eventually have 5 centers located in the major urban communities in the most underprivileged areas of Philadelphia, Montgomery and Chester county areas. The center welcomes any and everyone but its target population in underprivileged youth and children. The center will help keep children off the streets and out of trouble, while providing a care that they might not have access to in their neighborhoods. The first center will be located in Norristown, Pa which is part of Montgomery County. I choose Norristown because it is a small but populated area with a diverse amount people from varies demographic backgrounds. There are elven schools located in the Norristown area, which will help us start with a good amount of children for the center.

Importance of the community involvement: We need the community to support this project for the children. The way small businesses spread is by word of mouth. If the community allow their children to come to our center this will help us grow a foundation. We need the support of the community to help us throw and spread the word about the center.

Identify individuals to collaborate with: In order for the business to grow and get funding we need support from local businesses such as schools, churches, hospital, grocery stores to help market are center. I would have to collaborate with the school district of Norristown and their teachers to get students to come to the center. In the beginning it would be beneficial for some of the teacher to volunteer and help with in the center. If we can get local Pediatricians in the community or from the hospital to help support the health and wellness aspect of the center, this will greatly strengthen the people belief in the center.
