Dance Competition 2014

Dancing nowadays become one of the habits of people. Dancing serves as an expression of what they want to express. Also a means of communication or just for an entertainment.

Last February 21, 2014 the 1st year Engineering students had their Dance Competition in Modern Dance with a theme of 1980’s or 1990’s songs at the Multi-Purpose Hall of Laguna State Polytechnic University-Sta. Cruz Main Campus.

When the clock hits the first hour in the afternoon, the Multi-Purpose Hall of LSPU-SCC were filled with varied costumes together with their bright and magnificent colors dressed by the 1st year Engineering students. As how bright the costumes they had as what you can see with their faces. Anxiety, excited, calmness, nervous, surprise and even with no reaction were drawn all over the faces of the students. You can’t figure out what they really feel that time. It’s a mixed emotion which is not shown by their facial expression but also by their postures and gestures.

As usual as the old habits, the program starts with the prayer and singing the National Anthem led by some students. Then, Mrs. Zhymoneth Herrera-Ligoy -- the P.E Instructor started to roll call all the students she’s handling. She was the one who also started the program and say something to the students to be encouraged and be brave enough. Followed by the inspirational message done by the Dean of College of Engineering, Dean Revelina C. Ansay. Afterwards, introduced the judges which were chosen to criticize the Dance Competition.

Before the “Most Awaited Dance Competition” the 1st year Engineering students performed the Mumbo-Samba for the Mass Demo. They dance gracefully with the music and synchronize in motion.
