Pkolino Case Study

Abstract

Pkolino was founded by two dads, J. B. Schneider and Antonio Turco-Rivas. Their intent in starting this company was to make better products to improve play at home with children. They attended Babson College and realize this mutual goal while obtaining their MBA. While in college, they collaborated during intensive research and develop a business plan to start their business. Let’s now discuss Pkolino strength and weaknesses of their business plan and what areas need to be improved.

While attending Babson College, J.B. Schneider and Antonio Turco-Rivas, started a company called Pkolino (pee-ko-lee-no). Their company manufactures and markets toys and furniture for kids. They offers play toys; play furnishing comprising of tables, seating, storage and bedrooms, art supplies, décor, and related accessories for children of various ages. They serve customers through retailers in the United States and internationally, as well as online (Schneider, J, Turco-Rvias, A. (2005). We shall now examine their business plan:

Their mission statement: “Pkolino is a product development and marketing company. Their goal is to improve play at home by developing and marking innovative playroom furniture designed for the child. Their product will grow and adapt to the child’s stage of development and integrate with toys and activities to encourage and enhance play.

Pkolino believe in social responsibility and make every effort to run the company in an environmentally friendly way such as conserving energy, reducing waste, and exploring the use of sustainable materials and products. They embrace producing eco-friendly products and believe in the collective value to their investors, employees, customers, and society.
