In this article, the authors discuss the use of a new model in order for management and organizations to thrive in the ever-changing dynamic markets. To progress we must constantly make adjustments in the way we think and work. Nonetheless the traditional top-down approach must be preserved to moderate results, however instead of merely supervising, leaders are expected to cultivate employees personally and professionally to their full potential.

Increasing amounts of articles and books on management are in sync with this theory. Yet without the clear direction of what needs to be changed or how to start this process, stakeholders are reluctant to take this risk. The authors believed both managing by instructions (MBI) and managing by objectives (MBO) are ineffective as opposed to managing by values (MBV). However, MBV does not substitute MBO but rather making it more meaningful by complementing it.

MBV is a great management tool because it satisfies consumers increasing needs for a responsive business structure by following the steps of other successful collaborators using the same concept and helps all employees to be accountable, independent and dedicated. Adding on, MBV aids in guiding individuals towards achieving company’s goals, supports the humanistic development of the organization and business ethics that aims for competitive differentiation and achievement.

Principally, MBV is used to simplify, guide and secure commitment. Simplify means adapting through all the changes in the organization, guiding means directing strategic vision to achieve company’s goals and securing commitment means developing employees commitment to produce high quality performance.
