Business | Citrix began as Citrus Systems in 1989. In 1995 it launched the product WinFrame. The new headquarters for Citrix opened in Fort Lauderdale, Florida in 1997. The President of Citrix Mark Templeton was named to the position in 1998. Citrix entered into collaboration with IBM in 2002 for server consolidation solutions. In 2007, Ardence Inc. was acquired by Citrix. The company has a Facebook, Twitter, Linkedin and an RSS feed to keep customers current on products and solutions offered. There are several products offered to clients for many purposes. The products are broken into categories. The products offered for Desktops are XenDesktop, XenApp, XenClient, Citrix Receiver and GoToMyPC. The products and solutions for Server purposes are XenServer and Essentials for Hyper-V. The Networks products and solutions offered are Access Gateway, NetScaler and Branch Repeater. GoToMeeting, GoToWebinar, GoToTraining, GoView, HiDef Conferencing and GoToAssist are the products and solutions for Collaboration purposes. Finally, there is the Cloud solution which is Citrix OpenCloud. The clients of Citrix are offered a full range of support for the products and services that they purchase. There is even Citrix Education which provides training and certification programs for all the products and services offered. |
