UNIT 1. EVALUATION (First Examination)

1. In this unit, there are five identified constraints to the development of multiple cropping. Considering each mentioned constraints, discuss a strategy you can do to develop multiple cropping and realize better production.

Multiple cropping system is an agricultural scheme being practiced by farmers even since ancient times. In fact it is being looked upon as an intensive strategy for intensifying land use and for absorbing excess farm labor. However, despite its extensive and expansive use, still, various constraints were positively identified as hindrances to its further progress and advancement.

That is why to enable to ensure success in the adaption of multiple cropping, a thorough study of the possible impediments in the adaption of the abovementioned approach should be done. I should be able to identify point for point the probable problems and the corresponding feasible solutions which he may encounter along the process of adopting the said scheme.

First and foremost, I will make a viable financial plan of the whole project. In this way, I will be able to study and identify the possible crop combination, resources to be used, labor cost, etc. This will also ensure the maximum profit that I may possibly obtain.

After creating a financial plan, I must be able to identify the land area to be used. In this way I will be able to identify which crops to be first planted as per weather and rainfall pattern in such area, the possible crops that are socially acceptable in said area, and the distance of said area from the nearest market.

And lastly, I should seek technical consultation from local authorities in said area such as the Municipal Agriculturist’s Office. For this reason, I will be able to pinpoint available crop varieties as well as farm machinery which may be utilized during farming at lesser cost.
