The movie Fatal Attraction starring Michael Douglas and Glen Close, details of the Big Five personality traits. In the movie both charters Michael and Glenn display openness to experience with intellectual curiosity. Michael plays the role of a married man, whose wife and child have left for a weekend trip. Michael meets Glenn who is single and open to date. The two decide to have an affair that Michael only wanted to last over the weekend. Glenn learns of Michael wife and child. Glenn starts display conscientiousness by setting up planned behavior, rather than spontaneous behavior. Glenn starts to plan out how to win Michael over his wife. Glenn’s charter starts to also display compulsive behaviors by suicide attempts to win Douglas over. When it comes to conscientiousness with Michael’s charter is more easy-going, however careless with his choices to start an affair. Throughout the movie Michael displays more self-disapline but trying to reason with Glenn. In the movie both Michael and Glenn appear to have extraversion as a part of their personalities. Michael and Glenn both are energized and thrive off of being around other people, introverts who would rather be left alone. They both take pleasure in activities that involve large social gatherings, such as parties, community activities, and, business. The two character’s both appear to enjoy working, and social life. The two charters appear to most happy when with others for Michael he enjoys his family, Glenn whom is unhappy when faced with been alone. Glenn wants nothing more than to surround with a family. In the movie she becomes pregnant by Michael and is desperate to keep the child despite Michael been married. Michael’s charter has an Agreeableness, he is sympathetic, cooperative, warm and considerate. Michael displays sympathy for Glenn, realizing that Glenn has deep mental health issues.
