Abstract

I am writing about the theme of war and the Warrior and how it relates to Sir Gawain And The Green Knight. Who is Gawain? Who is the Green Knight? What does it mean to be a Warrior and how it relates to Gawain? What is the Warriors’ code to Gawain and does he fit the description ? All these questions will be answered in this paper. Also included will be how War and Warriors’ relate to today’s society and people. Can I or anyone else be compared to the characters at hand in this story? Conclusion to how the poem had ended and sources used.

Who is this warrior Sir Gawain ?

Since the beginning of recorded history the has always been war and warriors who have stepped from beyond there comrades and to be forever remembered in various poems, stories, or history books. Here are a couple from out literary and historical outcomes. Sir Gawain is nephew to King Arthur. (The Norton Anthology World Master Pieces: Sir Gawain And Green Knight pg. 1224 verse 111) He is son of Arthur’s sister Morgause or Anna and King Lot of Orkney and Lothian.
