Do you prefer to do a project individually or in group ?

During my bachelor in HEC and my former studies, I faced diffent type of project, conducted either individually or in group. Therefore i can say that I feel confortable to work as part of a group or independently. For me, both point of views have their strengh and can be defended. Someone would prefer to work alone because they find it more convenient and dont want to share the credit of their work while others want to benefit from knowledge and competence sharing to improve themself.

Firstly, it is very rare in most professions that you will be working completely independently. Thus, being able to work by team is necessary for our future professional life. Moreover, for most project or assignement, having mutiples brains, focusing toward the same objectives can only be beneficial. The member of the group will share their ideas, point of views, skills, and will learn from each others in order to improve their efficiency. Thus, the team will be able to produce twice the result with half of the effort necessary.

On the other hand, working independently seems more convenient because you can manage your own time, you are the one who sets deadlines and it’s up to you to comply or not. There is less pressure. Furthermore, the person working alone has better chance to expose all his talents and competence. In addition, the quality of your work depends solely on your abillity and your effort. Therefore, he will be the only one to get and claim credit for it.

To conclude, i deeply believe that there is not one final answer to this question. I think depending on the situation there are positives arguments for both teamwork and individuals. Personally, I’m comfortable working both as member of a team or independently. Whathever my positions requires, I’m confident I can handle it.
