SUMMARY

The article is about Masters and Johnson who created a team to study sec and became sec therapists in the field of human sexuality. William Howell Masters, a gynecologist, was born in Cleveland, Ohio in 1915. Virginia Eshelman Johnson, a psychologist, was born in Springfield, Montana in 1925. They researched the nature of sexuality and the experience. Their main goal was to define sexuality as a healthy human trait and the experience of great pleasure and deep intimacy during sex. They wanted to conduct experiments by testing 700 men and women while they were having sexual intercourse or masturbating. In 1966 they made a booker called Human Sexual Response. Intrinsic motivation is the desire to do something for its own sake and the pleasure it brings. (Wade and Tavris page 467)

APPLICATION

The article talks about Masters and Johnson and their experiments and research they've did together about sex. The book talks more in debt about sex and about how sex is a biological drive. Once people start kissing or oral sex, they are considered unnatural in another culture or historical time. People would have learned from experience and use their sexual desires and how they are expected to behave. But most people have sex to have pleasure. Some people even masturbate or "play doctor".

CONCLUSION

I don't think I can tie this into my experience because I have never had sex with another person before. I have kissed people, but have never gotten to the point where we'd have sex.
