Wilmington Yearly Meeting Youth Epistle August 2013

Wilmington Yearly Meeting Youth group started their journey on August 1st, 2013. They started out by watching a movie called Bruce Almighty. On August 2nd, 2013 they began with going to Cuba Friends Meeting to set up t-shirts at the friendly Market. They attended the president’s luncheon at the president’s house. The youth then had a tour at the Peace Resource Center with Eric Guindon . They learnt how the peace resource center was started and how to make or origami cranes. The youth then got ice-cream and had a nature walk through the Wilmington College bike trail and arboretum. James Godfrey and Andrew Long played ultimate Frisbee with Ohio Valley Yearly Meeting youth while Jessica Drinnon, Jackie Kuykendall , and Bryona Hudson cheered them on. The youth watched a movie at James’s house with Travis Camp. They had their banquet dinner at Mediterranean in Wilmington. Then the youth went bowling with Jonathan Goff. On August 3rd, 2013 the youth started out at Cuba Friends again by helping serve lunch. The youth attended the Workshop with Katie Terrell about spiritual gifts. The youth headed to the Quaker Heritage Center to have a tour. The youth then helped the Quaker Heritage Center (Isaac Garrison and Ruth Dobyns) clean and take down pictures. Dinner was at Rods on this night then they headed over to Cowan Lake for the Lake bash to play Frisbee and swim in the Lake. The youth then went to Quaker Knoll and played a good game of Frisbee golf and then phase 10. They all ended the night at James house playing Mario cart on the Wii.
