When looking at the Kudler Fine Foods website it was determined that a much needed overhaul will be conducted to ensure that Kudler will be updated with the latest technology. This is a very important fix. If Kudler Foods cannot keep up-to-date with the latest technology then Kudler’s will fall behind. Ensuring Kudler Fine Foods is able to keep up with the advances in network systems, plus, it is important that the correct systems is installed so that there is no wasted money. The reason this is important is because if the wrong system and storage units is installed then the company has to fork over more money for upgrades. This is the reason it is extremely important that proper storage units and systems need to be installed. It also provides expansion for future upgrades without wasting money. The list is an area of problems within Kudler Fine Foods:

• Slow connections with 56K modems

• Windows 98 is running the host system

• The servers at Delmar and Lajolla are Windows NT servers

• The XLS servers at Delmar and Lajolla are running Office 97

• There are Novella servers running at Delmar and Lajolla that were released in 1994

• The site has a UPS system that is stand alone

One of the first things that was noticed was the site was on a 56K modem. The company needs to realize that this modem is antiquated technology and the only thing it’s doing is holding back the speed of the site. Having a faster modem is vital to provide updates as soon as they are released. It also helps with profits each day and also helps with inventory updates. Now, the 56K modems will be removed so that the Wide Area Network or WAN and within the site there is a wireless local area network. The WAN links the site network with the others which will boost the network speed and employee communication.
