Civil War

Slavery in American history has a lot of different viewpoints, especially from the United States citizens of the 19th century. Even in our constitution you can spot how slavery impacted and imparted on many lives if not all. Let's take a time travel into history to the Civil War. This war was specifically about the question of slavery, where America during the mid 1800s had been split into two separate "countries" known as North and the South. although war is a horrible thing through this civil war Americans see many doors open for African Americans and rights, and the thread that intertwines all American citizens, freedom.

This war began generally around the year of 1861 when the North and South. The North also known as The Union and South called themselves The Confederates. This war was not just a black and white war, literally, but this civil literally tore America not just between African American slaves and white slave owners but also included Irish, Germans, Native Americans, Chinese, Jews, Hispanics, etc. (The Civil War). These "countries" wanted different outcomes such as the Union is kind of self explanatory but in other words just wanted to Unify America once again as the constitution states, with life liberty and to put their foot down on slavery continuing. Confederates believed otherwise and would fight to show they did. The south acted pretty much like a full on country and even elected their own president known as Jefferson Davis who was elected in November 1861, same year the war had begun.

Both sides of the war had a large amount of soldiers and weaponry ranged from technology. The Union had close to 2 million troops and the Confederates had 1.2 million all fighting for how history was going to go down. President Lincoln and Davis did not have the best armies and had to settle for large amount of volunteers from states and territories. As far as the Union went the draft called upon men around the...
