Employees’ views of JetBlue CEO

JetBlue Airline was founded by David Neeleman , along with JetBlue airline, he also established two other airlines which are “Morris Air and Azul Brazilian”.(Kathleen) David Neelman. Neeleman was JetBlue’s Chief Executive Officer until he was replaces by David Barger. When Neeleman first created his airline “he wanted to start a highly capitalized, low-fare airline that focused on customer service” (Kathleen). Neeleman’s goal was to single handedly create a unique airline that was innovative for the current market. Neeleman mind set was to create low fare airline that was designed for customers who needed to travel at affordable prices, and which would essentially create a new strand of business. His philosophy for JetBlue was that “Take care of your employees first; they will take care of your customers; and your customers will take care of your shareholders” Kathleen). Employee felt that Neeleman was great CEO who cares for the employee’s satisfaction. An employee stated on “glassdoor.com” that Neeleman was “humble and moral man who believed in doing right by the customer and the employee” also stated that “when founder David Neeleman was ousted, the company lost its way” In conclusion, some employees feel that the company has lost their values and believes over the years. Employees also feel that the company cares little about the worker/customers and that their main aim is money ever since Neeleman was replaced by David Barger.

David Barger replaced Neeleman in 2007 and he is the current Chief Executive Officer. It state on JetBlue.com that Barger was also part the people who assists Neeleman creating JetBlue. It was stated on Jetblue.com that “Mr. Barger joined JetBlue in 1998, before the airline was named or had a single aircraft. He succeeded founder David Neeleman as Chief Executive Officer in 2007”.
