Abstract

From a historical perspective the country of Malaysia is comprised of 13 states and its core is a Westminster system of government in which the head of state and the head of government are separate from each other. The paper is designed to explore Malaysia from four perspectives. What are the major elements and dimensions of culture in this region? These dimensions of culture will the foundation of this research and whether it is advantageous for Multinational Corporations to invest in region of the world. How are these elements and dimensions integrated by locals conducting business in the nation? For any nation that that strives to increase its foreign direct investment must present that there is a distinct advantage in conducting business in their particular country. How do both of the above items compare with US culture and business, including Hofstede’s analysis? In performing a cultural analysis one must study the culture and the personality of the region. What are the implications for US businesses that wish to conduct business in that region? For businesses that choose to venture in this region of the world, in most instances it can support substantial capital growth in the company’s infrastructure and bottom line.
