SIC – 3.5.1 - Configuring Hosts and Servers (12 points)

Write a short paragraph (minimum three college-level sentences) below that summarizes what was accomplished in this lab, what you learned by performing it, how it relates to this week’s TCO’s and other course material; and just as important, how you feel it will benefit you in your academic and professional career. (6 points)

In this lab I was able to figure hosts and services. I was able to go and set up my server by configuring the DNS and IP addresses. The PC added to the network allowed for more practice in setting up the necessary information to access the network (IP address, subnet mask, default gateway and DNS server).

SIC – 4.6.1 - Analyzing the Application and Transport Layers (11 points)

Write a short paragraph (minimum three college-level sentences) below that summarizes what was accomplished in this lab, what you learned by performing it, how it relates to this week’s TCO’s and other course material; and just as important, how you feel it will benefit you in your academic and professional career. (5 points)

In this lab I was able to explore the DNS and HTTP configurations more. By replacing the server at the beginning it provides me the opportunity to work on troubleshooting procedures. It took a minute for me to actually figure out how to turn the server on but I eventually got back on track. I think that knowing how these operations interact will assist me in the building knowledge of networking operations.
