HOW TO WRITE A CHECK

This is a lesson on how to write a check. First you need to go to the bank and tell them you would like to start a checking account. They will give you several different options on which one best suits you. After you pick the best checking account for you and fill out all the paper work needed you will be given checks. Checks are what you can use to take money out of your bank. You can write a check very easily. The first thing you have to do on a check is put the date. The date really doesn’t matter because when the bank gets the check they are going to deposit it right away, or give the person the money. The next thing you have to do is fill out the pay to the order of line. This line will have the person you are writing the check to name. This should be in cursive because cursive is much hard to copy or change. If there is any extra space draw a line so that nobody can write anything else to change your check. The next thing you should do is write the numeric money value. Make sure you can tell a difference between the dollars and cents. And again draw a line if any extra space and also write you numbers close together. On the line below the numeric money value there is another line; on this line you will write the money value in words. Make sure it is in cursive and put your cents as a fraction. For example 50/100, always put it over 100. There is a memo line in the far left corner, there is a memo line, this line is not required for you to fill out it is simply there for you or someone else to know why you wrote the check. The final thing is your signature. This will go in the far right corner, here you have to use cursive no matter what! This signature needs to be your name only and has to match your signature card.
