Introduction

I enjoyed reading the message that I have read in Matthew 24:42-44. It contains a very powerful and important message that all of us need to understand and follow. Matthew provides us with information of the second coming of Christ. Matthew not only predicts this event but he also tells us that we must prepare for this event. To better understand how these two items relate to one another, I will give my interpretation of his messages and give a summary of what these events had in common.

Episode 1

To better understand Matthew 24:42-44, I had to look and read the start of Matthew 24, specifically Matthew 24: 1-35. The messages in these passages are that there will be signs that will foretell the end of times and the second coming of Christ. There will be very specific and also some no so specific signs ass the second coming come closer. Jesus really shows his compassion for all man but telling his disciples of these signs so we can know and start to prepare as the time draws near.

Episode 2

To further understand as to why we must prepare for this event, I read further in Matthew 24:36-51. The messages of these passages are that we will not know the day or time of the second coming. Because that we will not know when the second coming of Christ will happen it is important to be prepared at all times because it could happen at any moment.

Episode 3

In Matthew 25: 1-13, I understand the message here is we must be prepared for the bridegroom Jesus Christ. We cannot wait until the last minute to prepare because we will have no chance once time is up. The delay of the second coming of Christ separates the wise from the foolish. Being prepared and having our things in order means to be ready for a long delay and that we should not live for a shirt-lived life of sin.

Common Message

The common message in these three episodes is we must be ready and start to prepare now...
