Paglipas ng Dilim

("After the Darkness") is a 1920 zarzuela – a Spanish lyric-dramatic genre – written in the Tagalog-language by Filipino playwright and novelist Precioso Palma. A three-act play, the music for the original version of Paglipas ng Dilim was composed by Filipino musician Leon Ignacio.

Sa Bunganga ng Pating

 (In the Shark's Jaws) is a sarswela in three acts, written by Julian Cruz Balmaseda on 15 Sept 1921. Its music is by Leon Ignacio. In the same year, it was premiered at the Manila Grand Opera House. This play in Tagalog explores the use of peaceful means or due process of law to fight the injustice of the powerful landlords. This theme is unusual to traditional sarswela.

Senakulo

(Passion Play) is a dramatic presentation depicting the Passion of Jesus Christ: his trial, suffering and death. It is a traditional part of Lent in several Christian denominations, particularly in Catholic tradition.

Moro-moro 

(Comedia) is a play that became popular in the Philippines during the Spanish colonial period. It depicted battles between Christians and Moros-as Muslims in the Philippines are popularly known-with the Moros as the perpetual villains who always lost to the Christians in the end.

Sa Pula, Sa Puti

(For the Red Rooster, For the White Rooster) is a play in one act, written by Francisco "Soc" Rodrigo. It was first staged on 10 Sept. 1939 by the University of the Philippines Dramatic Club at the Manila Metropolitan Theater. Originally, this was written by Rodrigo in English for his class in dramatics under Jean Garrot Edades at the University of Santo Thomas. It has been expanded and revised by Rodrigo and he subsequently translated it in Tagalog. It has also been published in Short Plays of the Philippines , Manila: Robert S. Hendry, 1950, by Jean Edades.
