Healthy Living

Living healthy can be a many of different things in this world. From working out everyday to maintain muscle tone, to getting a full 7 to 8 hours of sleep at night and waking up refreshed. This is something that I have been looking into a lot as a college student/ athlete. I will not brag on my tremendous eating habits, but for the most part I have been able to limit my body to intake only things that are for the most part good for me. Living on my own has been hard to maintain good meals consistently; however fruit and vegetables have been big contributors to keeping a balanced diet. The past 4 years have been up and down with my eating habits because of school and where I lived at the time. I have noticed that over the years as I start to live more on my own and farther away from my parents, that my body is starting to take in better foods because I am growing to be more responsible.

My freshman year of College was my only year to live in a dorm. This was not the best environment to live in and not having a kitchen was awful. Of course I was staying in good shape because I lived on campus and worked out a lot thanks to having that available to me. But the food we consumed from the cafeteria morning, lunch, and dinner was not exactly the most filling. This would lead to late night fast food runs or even junk food grocery shopping. This was about at the stage of me starting to see more results as I workout more, with my muscle tone and definition. But the food I would feed my body with was lacking the ability for my body to take in proteins to grow and recover. This is a study shown by Jose Antonio and Jim Stoppani, how you should feed your body proteins after workouts for muscle cells to produce more testosterone.
