Holiday Inn

We discussed the responsibility of keeping rooms and public areas clean and the importance of housekeeping in the motel and hotel business. As when talking to a attendant, I asked if there was any special education to be hired. He said there is no special education is needed to become a housekeeping attendant and most employers prefer high school graduates. It was interesting to know the fact that housekeeping is a stable job and the most well respected in the hotel business. He also said that being reliable, responsible and able to follow instructions is important if you want to become a housekeeping attendant. He also said that being able to work as part of a team and get along with coworkers is also important, because you will interact with other housekeeping attendants and hotel employees. Then being able to maintain a neat, professional appearance and adhere to wearing a uniform is often necessary if you want to become a housekeeping attendant.

After all hearing what the business was about, we were signed to a room that needed cleaning. It was exciting to play the roles of what housekeeping. The important role was to understand how to use basic cleaning equipment and cleaning products. It was kind of difficult for some students to keep in detail and good organizational skills to present the room to another housekeeping attendant. It was fun having a friendly personality and good people skills while being a housekeeping attendant for the morning. Overall it was a fun!!
