Privatizing Space Exploration

Man has explored from the beginning of time. It is part of our DNA to seek out and understanding what exists in the unknown. This is true for our earth both on land and sea and then we reached for the sky and beyond to outer space. The greatest exploration to ever be accomplished was when we left our world and landed on the moon. Space exploration is very expensive and even more so when it is government run. There will always be a political drive for the exploration and it will over shadow the scientific goals. The private sector, driven by capitalism which creates competition lowers the cost, shortens delivery times and creative innovation thrives in that type of atmosphere. We know that the earth has limited resources, pollution and over population along with the life expectancy of our sun should be the driving factor to focus all of our strengths into space exploration. Privatizing space exploration should be a world goal with limited political control to ensure the continuation of our species in the future.

The majorl governments should be focused on treaties between the major entities who will be the driving force in the exploration process. The United States needs to manage our national security, servicing of military satellites and the removal of space debris via NASA. This needs to be done in unison with the private sector’s efforts so we do not duplicate our efforts. There needs to be a focus on the importance of this effort and to excite the general populist so that tax money is easily obtained. The schools and colleges need to make a unified effort to excite their students in the field of science so we build a mind trust similar to what we had when we landed on the lunar surface.

A new economy is evolving as will be the next great frontier that the world will witness. That will be the development of a base station on the moon and mining of minerals. Along with this will be deeper exploration of possible...
