Piping Erection Flow Chart vis a vis Methodology

1. Pipes are received mostly in 6 m and 12 m length.

2. Ground assembly and welding carried out for preparing MITRE bends for large dia pipes and making 12 m / 24 m pipe lengths prior to lifting.

3. Carrying out NTD test for welding of ground assembled pipes :

a. Oxygen (HP & LP), Nitrogen (HP), Argon and Propane – 100% RT

b. All other pipes – 20% DPT, RT % as per requirement

4. Painting done except ends where welding to be done after erection.

5. Erection of pipes including fixing of supports

6. Alignment and welding

7. NDT of welds in position

8. Fixing of valves and other fittings

9. Testing and flushing depending on media availability.

10. Charging of line as per requirement. Lines can be charged even if other lines below or above is not complete but special precaution is to be taken in case of erection of above.

Special Notes :

* CO and Mix gas lines are flanged joints, not welded joints. In these cases extra precaution is to be taken while erecting beside a charged line.

* In case of fuel gases like CO, Mix gas , O2, BF gas, Propane; N2 purging to be done before charging and N2 supply to be done from bullet.

* For UG pipes testing to be done by construction water.
